Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Implement and manage all weekly community-based adaptive sport and physical activity programs that address the needs of youth with physical disabilities. Programs include wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, track and field, and swimming.
  • Travel when needed with various BlazeSports sports teams as needed to team tournaments and competitions. Assist with the

organization of travel for staff, coaches and athletes/parents for these tournaments.

  • Coordinate and implement special events in communities and schools such as BlazeDays, sport clinics, summer camps, and

other organizational events as needed.

  • Assist with leading our annual sport competitions including our wheelchair basketball tournament- Big Peach Slam Jam and

Peachtree Paragames.

  • Oversee the BlazeSports residential week-long youth summer camp including recruiting participants/camp counselors/volunteers and other staff as needed.
  • Program data collection including weekly and monthly attendance and other program reports as required.
  • Develop and facilitate partnerships with like-minded organizations to expand the mission of BlazeSports.
  • Manage BlazeSports Equipment Loan Program (ELP), including the loan and return of equipment to individual athletes and organizations as per BlazeSports ELP policy and procedures.
  • Assist with maintenance of BlazeSports adaptive sports equipment and conduct annual inventory.
  • Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by Program Manager and BlazeSports team, including driving BlazeSports vehicles.

  • Must be mature, enthusiastic, energetic and able to relate well to a wide variety of people.
  • Must be team oriented.
  • Evening and weekend hours required in support of our programs.
  • Must be able to travel as required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work inside and outside, in temperatures that may reach 100 degrees F (seasonally/occasionally), and in inclement weather for brief periods of time.
  • Ability to perform regular vigorous work activity that may involve lifting (25 lbs. or more), loading vans/vehicles, setting up for events & programs, etc.
