Who We Are Nicholas House’s mission is to help families who are experiencing homelessness and support them through their crisis. Nicholas House helps families who are struggling to pay rent move into affordable homes, get themselves to work and their children off to school, and ultimately lift themselves up and out of poverty and toward a better life. Accounting Essential Responsibilities: Manage full cycle Accounts Payable process, including monthly rent payments for housing clients in BILL. Process employee expenditures including credit card reconciliation and monthly reimbursement expenses. Maintain AP records and file documentation in order to comply with State of Georgia and Federal purchasing regulations. Resolve payable discrepancies. Assist with annual agency audit. (pull / file documentation). Assist with federal/state contract audits. (pull / file documentation) Assist in the annual IRS 1096 and 1099 filings. Maintain Vendor Form W-9. Order office supplies. Manage vendor relationships. Development Essential Responsibilities: Maintain the integrity of donor information in the Bloomerang database; conduct general database review and cleanup to ensure data accuracy. Assist with Donor Engagement Plans for Fundraisers; remind of touches outlined in Donor Engagement Plans, prepare and send mailings to donors that are part of the Donor Engagement Plans. Secure internal and external resources for major donor communication (news reports, impact, books, stories, etc.) that can be sent out by Development staff to donors interested in that topic. Input all donations into Bloomerang on a daily basis, ensure acknowledgement letters go out within two days of receipt. Update acknowledgement letter language on a regular basis to correspond with season, purpose of acknowledgement, relationship with donor, etc. Assist with planning of cultivation events. Create monthly Development committee and board report using data tracked in the database. Regularly reconcile all gifts with the Finance Department. Assisting with other tasks as needed by the Finance or Development departments. Education, Knowledge, Experience: 3 + years Accounts Payable experience. Experience with accounting and development software platforms a plus (QuickBooks and Bloomerang preferred). Proficient in Excel, Word and Microsoft Office 365. Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and apply accounting procedures. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet critical deadlines. Ability to follow up on pending issues. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Tactful and respectful interaction with other departments and employees. Must have a positive attitude and be professional. Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
