Chief Revenue Officer
Community Catalyst
Job Description
About Community Catalyst
Community Catalyst is a leading national nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to advancing health equity and justice. With a bold strategic vision and a deep commitment to systems change, we are transforming how health policy, philanthropy, and community power shape the health system. As we execute our strategic plan, we are seeking a Chief Revenue Officer to architect and lead an ambitious and integrated revenue growth strategy that aligns with our values and drives sustainable impact.
Position Summary
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will lead the next era of revenue growth for Community Catalyst—driving strategy, relationships, and innovation to grow our budget from $17M to $30M within 2–3 years, and from $30M to $50M by year six. The CRO will build a modern, mission-aligned revenue model that centers equity, includes traditional and nontraditional funding streams, and sustains long-term unrestricted capital through a “fund the fund” approach.
As a member of the Executive Team, the CRO will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Board and lead a cross-functional team responsible for foundation relations, major donor fundraising, venture philanthropy, impact investing partnerships, digital and recurring giving, and catalytic capital formation.

- A community of funders, donors, and allies who see Community Catalyst as essential infrastructure for health justice.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Revenue Growth
- Design and execute a multi-year revenue growth strategy with staged targets: $30M (2–3 years) and $50M (5–6 years).
- Integrate diversified funding sources including traditional philanthropy, venture philanthropy, catalytic capital, corporate partnerships, and government grants.
- Develop and launch a “Justice Investment Fund” (a “fund the fund” model) to attract unrestricted, pooled, or flexible multiyear capital.

Donor and Funder Engagement
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major philanthropic institutions, family foundations, and donor collaboratives aligned with racial equity, health justice, and systems change.
