WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): 

Provide support to and play a critical role in the successful execution of the organization’s compliance mission.  Ensure employees follow HR employment and work practices in alignment with laws, ethical practices, regulations and company policies.  Partner with line of business, legal, and risk functions to ensure regulatory and policy change matters are identified, tracked, adequately communicated, and implemented. 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): 

1. Partner with key stakeholders across the enterprise and assist with analyzing the impact of changes to laws and regulations.  Apply working knowledge of compliance regulations, industry topics, and continuing education.

2. Partner with legal department to notify HR stakeholders of legislative changes; ensure regulatory changes / updates are implemented and communicated to impacted HR functions and employees.

3. Mitigate risk by following established procedures, identifying issues, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

4. Accountable for HR audits, including collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely response.

5. Coordinate changes to employee handbook; ensure policy updates are reflected and communicated. Monitor, review and edit supporting documents / links for compliance updates.

6. May be responsible for planning, partnering and monitoring program(s) supporting corporate HR initiatives.  Where applicable, partner with HR teams to align with Learning systems to deliver content and monitor compliance. Ensure availability of applicable knowledge base and process resources.

7. May provide support to EEO program compliance.

 

PAY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This role is not eligible for relocation assistance

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Human Resources or related field or equivalent

Experience:  Minimum 5 years Human Resources experience or related field

Ability to manage and coordinate complex processes.  Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills required.  Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management. Experience working with third party administrators. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and applicable software applications including database and web-based systems. 

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).  The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
