POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of the Pacific Northwest team, The Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the LFA’s signature Walk to End Lupus Now and Lupus & You educational events, while working closely with the region staff and volunteers to reach event goals. This position is remote, but staff must be in Washington, Oregon, California, or Arizona. Key functions will include revenue generation, educational outreach, social media, implementation of event best practices, volunteer recruitment and engagement, team management, and logistical support of special events. Assist the Development Manager in the management of our Ambassador Program and Support Groups.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Roles and responsibilities of the Development Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
• Achieve event goals through management of participant fundraising efforts.
• Provide logistics support for designated Walk to End Lupus Now events, including planning and implementation.
• Recruit, manage and support volunteers as assigned to reach event goals.
• Lead regional Lupus & You educational outreach events.
• Manage graphics and content for the West Division social media accounts.
• Assist the Development Manager with Ambassador Program and Support Groups.
• Maintain accurate database records and assisting constituents with fundraising software tools.
• In concert with regional staff, develop relationships with key regional volunteer sponsors and fundraising participants to elevate and maximize revenue impact.
• Develop a current knowledge of lupus health issues, services, and key initiatives that drive the support of the mission. Ensure the Foundation’s mission is integrated throughout fundraising activities to ensure results are directly tied to volunteer engagement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• An experienced fund-raiser with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in successfully supporting special events, and volunteer engagement with a proven track record of exceeding fundraising goals.
• Experience recruiting and working with volunteers. Ability to establish strong, collaborative relationships and the adaptability to work with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt interpersonal and communication style to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Proven ability to work well in a fast paced and team-based environment.
• Self-starter and able to work independently and under pressure while managing multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
• High functioning with computer software and applications with a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, and an ability to learn donor tracking database programs, and fundraising software.
• Social media experience is highly desirable.
• Able to work effectively with colleagues throughout the organization as well as external customers and vendors.
• Remote work based in Washington, Oregon, California or Arizona.
• Available for occasional weekend and evening work.
• Ability to lift 35+ pounds.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

EDUCATION
• Minimum – Bachelor’s degree
