Job Summary: The Education Manager is responsible for coordinating the educational activities ranging from formal classroom to on-line programs, and workshops. Programming includes ESL, GED, Workforce Development and Financial Support events for families working toward financial stability. The Education Manager supervises NFCC team members within the program department including the Sr. Education Specialist, Workforce Development Coordinator and contract ESL Instructors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Adult Education Programs: GED and ESL to include training, scheduling and supervising contract ESL Instructors and Volunteer Tutors at the Barbara Duffy Center and off-site satellite locations.
- Responsible for supervising and supporting the Workforce Development Program.
- Identify, establish, and develop new off-site satellite ESL classes.
- Recruit, train and supervise NFCC team members within the program department; onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding to include the Sr. Education Specialist, Workforce Development Coordinator and contract ESL Instructors.
- Responsible for preparing payroll and vendor/ teacher invoices.
- Responsible for monitoring program outcomes and impacts to NFCC’s clients.
- Participate in the Board Program committee meetings, report on strategic progress of education.
- Participate in internal and external audits and satellite ESL location visits.
- Assist in grant proposals, reports and compliance as needed for NFCC programs.
- May work NFCC events and or with volunteers.
- All other duties assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality of students and clients.
- Project Management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
- Criminal background clearance and a negative drug test screening.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education or other relevant field, master’s degree preferred. 3 years’ experience in a non-profit program manager role or other relevant experience. Knowledge of adult education services and programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role is responsible for supervision of the Education team.
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary in the range of $53,000 – $62,000, based on experience. Our benefits package includes healthcare, life and long-term disability insurance, and supplemental insurance options.

- 2 benefit options and pay either 100% or 90% of the premiums for medical, dental and vision. Eligibility begins the first day of the month after 30 days of hire.
- 403(b) pretax elective deferrals following the first full pay period after their hire date with a matching contribution – for every $2.00 an employee contributes to their 403B plan, NFCC contributes an additional $2.00 up to 4% of your annual compensation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed indoors in an office setting sitting in front of a computer 80% of the time. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 10 lbs.
