Hope thru Soap’s Thrive by Hope program provides comprehensive services to parenting youth ages 18-24, offering overnight shelter, stability, and supportive services. Our goal is to promote safety, self-sufficiency, and long-term success for young families experiencing homelessness.

Position Summary

The Overnight Case Manager plays a critical role in providing trauma-informed care and support during overnight hours. This position ensures a safe, stable environment for residents, offers crisis intervention as needed, and maintains continuity of services between day and night programs for housing navigation, benefit assistance, job placement and empowerment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently while adhering to policies and procedures that prioritize youth and child well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite support to parenting youth 18-24 residents during overnight hours. Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure safety and policy compliance. Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or crises, including conflict resolution or mental health concerns. Complete shift reports and case notes to ensure smooth handoff to day staff. Monitor resident adherence to shelter guidelines and collaborate on behavior management strategies. Conduct brief check-ins with residents as needed; escalate concerns to Shelter Program Manager and day drop in center case managers. Maintain cleanliness and organization in shared spaces during overnight shift. Document incidents and follow up in accordance with agency protocol. Collaborate with shelter staff to uphold trauma-informed and youth-centered practices. Support parenting youth with infant/child-related needs as appropriate during overnight hours.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education. Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth and/or families experiencing homelessness, trauma, or crisis. Experience with parenting youth or young children in shelter or residential settings preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and youth development principles. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situations. Must pass background check and be CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain). Ability to lift 25 lbs, climb stairs, and remain awake and alert throughout shift.

Schedule

Overnight shift: Rotating shifts each week 7 days a week 6 pm- 7 am working with team
