Job Description
Jacob’s Ladder, a non-profit, SAIS-Cognia accredited Neurodevelopmental School and Therapy Center, is seeking a compassionate, missionally aligned Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team and help steward the health and safety of our school community.
Jacob’s Ladder School Nurse
The School Nurse will serve as a central support for student and staff wellness, overseeing the management of daily medical needs, health-related documentation, and campus health and wellness protocols. This is a full-time position; however, part-time hours may be available, dependent upon organizational and client needs. Additionally, the School Nurse may directly work with medically and physiologically complex clients as a Neurodevelopmental Provider, delivering intensive care and individualized programming through the Interpersonal Whole Brain Model of Care® (IWBMC™).
In this role, the School Nurse provides compassionate and comprehensive care to clients throughout the day, including administering medications, supporting clients with medical needs and equipment (i.e., G-tube feedings), monitoring medical protocols and practices for clients in partnership with the clinical leadership team, responding to medical situations, including but not limited to seizures and allergic reactions, and supporting general wellness needs for clients and staff. The nurse is responsible for maintaining and tracking all health records as outlined in the Jacob’s Ladder Group’s Clinical Policy and Procedural Manual for clients, ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, and well-organized.
This role may also involve monitoring trends in health-related data, such as illness-related absences or flu and COVID spikes, and sharing these insights with the administrative team to guide responsive decision-making and policy updates, as well as sharing wellness strategies with clients’ families and staff. The nurse also serves as a trusted advisor to clinical leadership on health-related procedures, legal compliance, and best practices for safety and wellness.
Communication with clinical leadership is central to this role, as the nurse keeps the appropriate team members informed to ensure leadership team members can then communicate accordingly with families.

Schedule:
- 4 hour shift (Part-time, dependent upon organizational need)
- 8 hour shift (Full-time)
- Monday to Friday
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN license in the state of Georgia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Knowledge of HIPAA and applicable school health regulations
- Comfort with supporting clients with a range of medical, behavioral, and developmental needs, all ages
