Title: Marketing & Communications Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Based in: Atlanta, GA, USA
Compensation Range: $85,000-95,000 annually based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits

Position Overview
The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF), an Atlanta-based nonprofit arts organization, is seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Director to advance our mission of inspiring new and diverse audiences to new levels of cultural understanding through film. This role leads brand strategy for a robust calendar of year-round programming, including the flagship annual festival, overseeing integrated marketing campaigns, brand storytelling, and media outreach to grow and diversify audiences, deepen stakeholder engagement, and drive revenue. A successful candidate will blend big picture thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring every message reflects the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management:
- Lead marketing strategy and integrated, multi-channel campaigns to grow audiences and
- Oversee campaign planning, execution, performance tracking, and budget
- Conduct audience research, segmentation, and analytics to optimize engagement and maximize
Brand & Creative Direction:
- Implement consistent brand messaging to strengthen and evolve the organization’s identity across
- Oversee the design and production of print, digital, video, signage, and core marketing
- Plan and execute an editorial content calendar to support marketing priorities and organizational
Media & Public Relations:
- Lead press and publicity strategies for major programs, announcements, and
- Pitch stories and secure earned media; manage co-branded PR with cultural and institutional
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Partner with Development to support donor campaigns, sponsor activations, and fundraising
- Collaborate across teams to promote year-round programs and community engagement
- Ensure ticketing, messaging, and audience communications align with the brand and audience
Manage Communications Resources:
- Supervise comms staff, contractors, and volunteers to ensure coordination and
- Lead the Marketing Committee and engage volunteers in year-round campaign and promo
- Drive outcomes with available PR consultants, creative agencies, freelancers, and media
- Maintain and refine systems and tools to support efficient, high-impact communications

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years in marketing, communications, or brand
- Experience in a nonprofit arts or cultural organization, and working with volunteers, preferred but not
- Proven ability to independently manage and lead staff as well as
- Track record of success leading integrated, multichannel marketing campaigns with strong digital
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with adaptable voice tailored for different
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, effectively managing multiple tasks with keen attention to
Technical Proficiency
Familiarity with a broad range of digital tools and platforms, including:
- Analytics & Workflow: Google Analytics, Airtable, Asana
- Email & Web: Mailchimp, Drupal, Meta Business Suite, SEO/SEM
- Design & Content: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing software
- CRM & Admin: Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, Dropbox
Salary & Hours
- Full time position – generally Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours required for events, meetings, and during the annual festival period (typically held in February–March).
